Malachite and its intense, “nightmarish” colour feature prominently in The Colour Storm. The huge hall in which the most chilling scene takes place is lined entirely in malachite, and it is the colour that Sybille is wearing when Giorgione first sets eyes on her in St Mark’s Piazza. Here I have created a cabinet of found pieces of the mineral, some geometric, some carved, some in their original state.
